In the beginning, there were no signs of the six members to have been initially chosen to stay together as a group. After the filming for the movie had ended, the six remained together for a short period of time and performed few cover songs but were never officially deemed a unit. In 2013 the unofficial unit separated and were disbursed into two groups, [[Jesse]] and [[Matsumura Hokuto]] were paired together which left the remaining four members to be paired together. After the disbursement of the two groups, the unit was not seen together as six until 2014 in ''Gamushara J's party‼ vol.4. ''It is mentioned by the members of the group that during these years, the members all considered leaving the company to pursue other goals as they did not see a future as six members. SixTONES (ストーンズ , pronounced as "Stones") is a six-member all-male boy group under Johnny & Associates. The group was introduced as an official group for the first time on May 1, 2015, during Team C’s performance in Johnny’s Ginza 2015, and were officially named SixTONES. After SixTONES were official together they remained as part of Johnny's Jr. for the following years leading up to their debut. SixTONES debuted on January 22, 2020.

History

The six-member group was first seen together as an unofficial unit which was cast in Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou: The Movie (2012.) and was often called Bakareya6. In the beginning, there were no signs of the six members to have been initially chosen to stay together as a group. After the filming for the movie had ended, the six remained together for a short period of time and performed few cover songs but were never officially deemed a unit. In 2013 the unofficial unit separated and were disbursed into two groups, Jesse and Matsumura Hokuto were paired together which left the remaining four members to be paired together. After the disbursement of the two groups, the unit was not seen together as six until 2014 in Gamushara J's party‼ vol.4. It is mentioned by the members of the group that during these years, the members all considered leaving the company to pursue other goals as they did not see a future as six members. However, Jesse was able to convince the members to stay as he saw a bright future with the group and had a passion and love for the group.
